Before You Rent
Our daily rates may vary according to different factors including van model, season, length of trip, demand, insurance, pick-up and drop-off locations. Here in Adventure Wheels, we value transparency. We aim to give our clients the complete upfront cost at the time of booking to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
Daily base rate rent is fixed depending on the season. Clients can choose from two different packages depending on the mileage you plan to have during the trip. Unused miles can be used on your next reservation. Excess miles at the time of drop off will be settled on your security deposit at $0.50/mile plus tax.

Yes. We will hold a $1200 security deposit on your credit card upon booking reservation. The security deposit can be used to cover the following but not limited to:
- Any damage to the vehicle not covered by insurance.
- Fuel refill charges if the car is not returned with the agreed-upon fuel level.
- Late return fees or additional mileage charges if applicable.
- Traffic fines or tolls incurred during the rental period that are charged to us.
Security deposit is refundable provided there are no charges for damages, fuel replacement, or other fees at the end of the rental period. The amount will be released to your credit card.
We offer flexible cancellation policy.
- Between 0 and 48 hours prior to pick up, 100% of the total trip value is charged in full.
- Between 48 hours and 59 days prior to pick up, 100% of the total trip value is charged in full. However, you will receive a cancellation voucher worth 50% of the total trip value that can be redeemed for future rental with us.
- If at least 60 days prior to pick up, 100% of the total trip value will be refunded. However, if you use a cancellation or gift voucher to pay part of total trip value, you will only receive a cancellation voucher for that amount.
You also have an option to rebook or reschedule your reservation. Please refer to our Rental Agreement for more details.
No. Our rental price does not include minimum liability insurance. You will need to provide liability, collision and comprehensive insurance.
Important to Note: If you are a U.S., Canadian, or International resident with a valid driver’s license from your respective country, and you have auto insurance or credit card insurance that provides coverage for rental vehicles, you may not have coverage for our campervans. Technically they are “conversion” or “recreational” vehicles, and not all rental/credit card insurance plans cover these kinds of vehicles.
Please check with your insurance company prior to pick up and ask specifically if your policy includes coverage for “conversion” or “recreational” vehicles.
Your credit card will be charged for the cost of all damages at return, and you will need to make a claim through your own insurance company for reimbursement. Please refer to our Rental Agreement for more details.
Driving a van is different than driving a car, average travel distances range from 200 to 300 miles a day, which is why we offer Adventure More package for those who wants to travel further. You can pre-purchase miles packages at a discounted rate or pay for additional miles at our current rate when you drop off the van.
It is advisable to book your van prior to booking airline tickets. While You Drive
Adventure Wheels fit in most tent sites, so you don’t need to pay more for an RV site unless you want an electric and/or water hook ups. (You’ll need to double check individual policies for private campgrounds).
You also have the option of “free camping”—also known as dispersed camping, pirate camping, boondocking, etc. Unless stated otherwise (usually a sign that says “No Camping” or “No Overnight Parking”) it’s legal to sleep in your vehicle within federally designated lands.
Our van size lengths are between 22 to 25 ft.
Ensure safety and check for injuries. Call emergency services (i.e. Police, Park Ranger, wherever appropriate). Move to a safe location, if possible. Be cautious about what you say when talking to other drivers or witnesses at the scene. Note down as much details as you can about the accident (damage to vehicle, scene of the accident, tickets or contact card issued – take detailed photos of all mentioned) and contact us.
Adventure Wheels does not permit vans to be taken to Burning Man festival. If you take Adventure Wheels to this festival, you will be responsible for all costs for damage, cleaning, and repairs and in addition will incur a $5,000 fine.
Sorry. We do not allow anything to be towed behind our vehicles.
Smoking of any kind is not permitted. This includes vaping, cigarettes and recreational cannabis. If vape odor, cigarette or cannabis use is detected in the van at drop-off, a defuming/ozonizing and sanitizing charge will be applied.
Some roads in the United States have seasonal restrictions on them. This means that renters can travel these roads only at specific times of the year. Currently these travel restricted areas are:
- Travel to Death Valley is limited to the low season (June 1st to September 30th) due to extremely high temperatures which can cause system failures.
- Travel to Alaska or outside Continental US is prohibited.
Renters are responsible to ensure that places to visit have roads that can accommodate the length, width, and height of the van.
If you receive a traffic violation or parking ticket, please inform us immediately. You’ll be responsible for any fines or penalties incurred during your rental period, and we can provide guidance on handling such situations.

Refilling the Fresh Water Tank: NOTE: ONLY fill from a drinkable OR potable water source!!! Putting non-potable water or any other fluids such as fuel into fresh water tank would result in permanent damaged of the fresh water tank and would require replacement at the expense of the renter.
- Locate the Fresh Water Inlet: This is usually marked and located on the side of the camper van.
- Use a Potable Water Hose: Connect the hose to a potable water source, ensuring the hose is clean and free from contaminants.
- Fill the Tank: Insert the other end of the hose into the fresh water inlet and turn on the water source. Fill the tank until it is full, checking the gauge if available.
- Secure the Cap: Once the tank is full, remove the hose and securely replace the inlet cap.
Emptying the Waste Tanks:
- Locate the Waste Tank Outlet: This is usually found on the side or underside of the camper van and has two separate valves for grey water and black water.
- Use a Sewer Hose: Attach one end of the sewer hose to the waste tank outlet and the other end to a designated dump station inlet.
- Empty the Black Water Tank First: Open the black water valve and allow the tank to empty completely. Close the valve once done.
- Empty the Grey Water Tank: Open the grey water valve and allow it to empty completely. This helps to rinse out the sewer hose. Close the valve once done.
- Rinse and Store the Hose: Rinse the sewer hose with clean water, detach it from both ends, and store it properly.
Safety Tips:
- Always wear gloves when handling the sewer hose and waste tanks.
- Make sure to use designated dump stations for waste disposal.
- Clean and disinfect your hands thoroughly after the process.
Locate the Electrical Hookup Outlet on the Camper Van: Typically, the electrical hookup outlet is on the side of the camper van. Open the cover to access the connection point.
Retrieve the Power Cord: Take the power cord from the storage compartment. Ensure the cord is in good condition and free from damage.
Connect the Power Cord to the Camper Van: Insert one end of the power cord firmly into the camper van’s electrical hookup outlet.
Connect the Power Cord to the Campsite’s Electrical Pedestal: Find the electrical pedestal at your campsite, which usually offers 30-amp and 50-amp outlets. Match the power cord’s plug to the corresponding outlet (most camper vans use a 30-amp connection).
Turn Off the Breaker: Before plugging in, ensure the breaker on the campsite’s electrical pedestal is in the “off” position. This prevents electrical surges when connecting.
Plug in the Power Cord: Insert the other end of the power cord into the corresponding outlet on the electrical pedestal.
Turn On the Breaker: Once securely connected, switch the breaker to the “on” position to supply power to your camper van.
Check the Power Supply: Inside the camper van, verify that power is being received by checking the electrical system and ensuring devices are functioning properly.
Safety Tips:
- Always handle electrical connections with dry hands.
- Use a surge protector to safeguard against power surges.
- Ensure the power cord is not a tripping hazard and is laid out safely.
To operate the camper van’s appliances and equipment, refer to the user manual provided in the van, which includes detailed instructions for each device. Additionally, you can watch our instructional videos on our website for a step-by-step guide. If you need further assistance, please contact our support team for help.
Setting Up the Awning:
- Unlock the Awning: Release the locking mechanisms on both sides of the awning.
- Extend the Awning: Use the hand crank or electric switch to extend the awning to your desired length.
- Secure the Awning: Pull out the support arms and secure them to the ground or the side of the camper van, ensuring the awning is stable.
Taking Down the Awning:
- Retract the Awning: Use the hand crank or electric switch to retract the awning slowly.
- Stow the Support Arms: Detach the support arms and fold them back into their storage positions.
- Lock the Awning: Secure the locking mechanisms to ensure the awning is safely stowed.
To check the levels of the van’s battery and other essential systems, use the control panel typically located inside the camper van. This panel displays information on battery charge, fresh water, grey water, and black water levels. Simply press the corresponding button on the panel to view the status of each system. For more detailed instructions, refer to the user manual provided in the van. If you need assistance, feel free to contact our support team.
